What to Consider When Selecting a Photo Booth Rental Vendor
We all know that in the events industry, there are no rewinds. There is no such thing as second chances, whether it’s a birthday party, a wedding or any other special occasion. That’s why you need to do your homework before choosing a photo booth rental company.
First off, what is the reputation of the good company? If you don’t find any reviews or listings on them in any reputable vendor site, that’s intriguing. If have no advertisements whatsoever, they might be hiding something. A very wise step you can take is to ask for client references from your prospective company. Give these people a call and listen.
The experience of photo booth rental companies is measured by the number of events they have done. Many will boast being in business for many years. But how many events exactly have they actually done? Do they have good relationships with other vendors in the events business? Do they have a portfolio?
In terms of photo booths, bigger megapixel doesn’t necessarily make better quality. More important factors are lighting and the printer’s DPI (dots per inch), considering you have limited space and depth of field in a photo booth. See if they can deliver professional quality photos. Will they cut photo strips using scissors? How long before the prints come out? These are the kinds of questions that actually count.
What level of customizations does the vendor provide? Or will it just be name and date captions below the photostrip? Either these people don’t use professional software or they don’t have in-house designers. If they say custom graphics is part of the deal, make sure it actually is.
If you’re considering a vendor based on price, don’t just ask what’s included but also what isn’t. Create a list of must-haves and optionals. In short, know your expectations. Also, how many hours will you get to use the booth? Do you pay an additional fee for customizations? A travel fee? Any hidden fees?
Do They Have an Actual Photo Booth?
Funny but true. There are photo booth rental companies that don’t actually have a photo booth. They will come to an event with portable backdrops and tripod-mounted cameras. That is no photo booth!
Because of the great number of photo booth rental companies these days, it may take some time before you find the one that’s right for you. But just be glad for the variety you have. In fact, you should have at least two or three prospects so you can make comparisons.
Take note, the pictures from your photo booth will bring you and your guests so many memories for many long years. Make sure they are all worth remembering.
